VECO CEO Bill Allen and VP Richard Smith pleaded guilty in May, 2007 to bribing Alaska lawmakers.

Since 1989 Young received more than $200,000 from VECO employees, his largest source of campaign funds.

The head of Young’s Alaska office, Jerry Hood, made $300,000 as a VECO lobbyist between 2004-2006. Hood quit as VECO’s lobbyist in November 2006 to become head of Young’s congressional office in Alaska.

VECO’s Bill Allen has long hosted annual fundraising pig roast for Young.
